We can’t say for certain when IDGI was first used, but we do know that the term was first defined on Urban Dictionary in 2004.

IDGI has been around for a while, but there has been a recent increase in people searching for it on Google, according to Google Trends. There seems to have been a space between 2005 and 2008 where nobody was really searching for the term.
